Support Groups

The bereavement team hosts several support groups, workshops, and socials throughout the year. All groups, workshops, and socials are for adults only unless otherwise specified and are held in person. Groups, workshops, and socials listed here are held at:

Frederick Health Village
1 Frederick Health Way

Please note: The groups, workshops, and socials listed here reflect what we currently offer; this list is updated regularly. We are constantly assessing the needs of the community and creating groups or workshops based on those needs. If you are looking for a support group for a specific type of loss, please don't hesitate to contact us about your support needs.

General Grief Support Group - DAY AND EVENING
1st and 3rd Thursdays, 2-3:30 pm (no group July 4th)
2nd and 4th Thursdays, 5-6:30 pm (no group November 28th)

This support group is an ongoing, drop-in group designed to provide support to individuals who have experienced the death of a loved one. Being with individuals who have had similar experiences and feelings allows sharing and healing to take place, and this group provides a safe place where group members can share their story and express their grief.

This is a drop in group; no need to pre-register. Please use NORTH entrance of building (front of building) for this event. There is a parking lot in the front of the building (Visitor Parking Lot).

Loss-Specific Support Group - DAY AND EVENING

We offer several loss-specific groups throughout the year, such as Loss of Spouse/Partner and Loss of Parent, which require pre-registration. These groups are usually held for an 8-week period, meeting weekly. Please call to register for a group you're interested in.
